VUP Medical, a.s. is a Czech manufacturer of knitted vascular prostheses, hernia meshes and other implantable and non-implantable medical devices. The company participates in the continuous innovation and development of new medical devices in cooperation with leading Czech universities and surgeons. This has helped to rank the company among world’s leading manufacturers of special implantable and non-implantable medical devices with excellent reputation for more than 60 years. The whole production process is ensured by an internal team of professionals with own and unique production technologies. The products of VUP Medical are distributed in the local market and in more than 30 countries around the world.
Vascular surgery
Our company is the first European developer and producer of knitted vascular prostheses. VUP Medical's total number of produced and implanted vascular grafts has reached more than one hundred thousand pieces.
We provide modern line of knitted, polyester vascular prostheses and vascular patches, in several variants. They are designed and produced to treat the abdominal aortic aneurysm, aortoiliac occlusive diseases and peripheral arterial diseases.
Hernia surgery
During the process of design and manufacture of hernia meshes we are following the recommendations of E.H.S, the European Hernia Society. It is an international professional society of physicians and scientists concerned with the study of abdominal hernias and other diseases of the abdominal wall. This organization highly recommends using a mesh for hernia treatment. When using a mesh, the open or laparoscopic technique is effective and painless. It allows the patient to resume unrestricted activities soon after the operation.
PP MESH is a modern line of surgical meshes corresponding to actual trends and requirement of surgeons. It is made of polypropylene monofilament and intended for open and laparoscopic operations of all hernia types.
Wound care
Our company has been designing and producing a portfolio of special products for wound care. These products have proven their quality during many years of clinical use in leading hospitals in the Czech Republic and abroad.
We provide a modern line of products for various types of wounds, such as burns, acute and superficial wounds, decubitus, diabetic foot syndrome, including surgically complicated wounds.
Other products
Besides above mentioned products, we develop and manufacture other medical devices: ABDOEXPAND – abdominal expander for open surgeries in abdominal cavity, PRONA – protective stocking for stump and ARAVEL – underwear for oncological patients.
